Rethink Waste at Bellingen Show

OzGREEN teamed up with Bellinger River Agricultural Show Society at the Bellingen Show in 2023. We organised four bin stations that were designed to educate people on where to put their rubbish. We engaged members of the local community to help run the stations with the aim of reducing the amount of waste that was sent to landfill. A washing station supported by 3 coffee vendors dramatically reduced the number of disposable coffee cups used over the weekend.

The weekend and collaboration was a great success with 25% LESS waste going to landfill. The Bellingen Show team was also recognised for their steps towards a more sustainable show winning the 2023 President’s Innovation Award.
